harlequin by the wonderful and amazing jodie mack
allison schulnik is my favorite
it came in the night, by a raincoat

the first time i saw the 1979 version of kenneth anger’s 1950 short film rabbit’s moon (i’ll post video at a later date), i was delighted by the visuals (clowns dancing in the moonlight!) but the soundtrack really stuck with me: a weird, catchy, glammy, faux-spooky 70s pop track, looped over and over. thankfully, an equally obsessed individual tracked down the song (+its fascinating backstory), and posted in on flickhead.
hobo clown (2008) by the amazing allison schulnik (w/ a beautiful soundtrack by grizzly bear)
youtube video embedded above, but i *highly* recommend watching the quicktime on her website instead: allisonschulnik.com/FILM/FILM.html
james kuhn - aka hawhaw james - is a christian drag queen, performance artist and facepaint illusionist. his magnificent “red clown” is really just a drop in the bucket - check out his youtube channel, where he transforms into hundreds of different creatures, from ursula the sea witch, to cows and sheep, to warhol’s marilyn, to the creature from the black lagoon. bibleartwork, he calls it.
